SIMAN styled pictures by Olivier Lacrouts
Siman dish, designed by Gian Paolo Venier in 2018, is crafted of cast concrete.
SIMAN Collection is a family of 7 concrete tableware objects conceived by Italian designer Gian Paolo Venier for our 2018 series. A passionate traveler, Gian Paolo Venier is in constant search of afar atmospheres to add to his design vocabulary. A postcard representing the ancient Toghrul tower, situated near Teheran (Iran) was the starting point for this collection. The name comes from the Farsi term “siman”, which means concrete.
Marked by the iconic pleating – which creates an everchanging game of shadows and depths – the 7 pieces – cake stand, candle-holder short, candle-holder tall, catchall, dish small, dish big, vase – carry a strong architectural character.
Available in 2 sizes (big and small) and 2 shades that highlight the texture of the concrete – light grey and anthracite – the collection is hand produced by Urbi et Orbi in Greece.

Every piece may exhibit color variations on its surface, as well as among other pieces of the same product or sample products. The concrete surface exhibits surface voids that are caused by the air. This is a natural property of concrete. |
